Glam your Tweezers!

Browsing through ASOS the other day I came across these pretty glittery tweezers from well known brand Tweezerman.

They come in at £26.00, an amount I just don't have lying around just after Christmas. I swear by Tweezerman. I've had a pair of them for years and the are still going strong.

So I decided to D.I.Y myself a pair of glitzy Tweezerman!!

I used a glittery nail varnish from Claires Accessories that came in a £2.50.

Doing this reminded me of when I was younger and I thought it was cool to cover my T.V remote in glittery nail varnishes and then everything else in sight.. including school rulers and pens etc... etc... the list could go on. Did anyone else do this?? Just me?

Anyway, my Tweezermans started off looking like this...

And ended up looking like this!

Such a cheap and easy way to glam up your old tweezers!! Give it a go =)!

Until next time! xx

Sunday Swoon....

Hey Guys! Sorry for such a late post. I've been extremely busy with things at work and sorting things out for my new job :).

So each Sunday, as it is a day of rest ;) I have decided to post things that inspire me and things i'm really enjoying at the moment! Hope you enjoy :). Any one else loving the new Maccabees album??

I'm thinking about treating myself to the dress for my Birthday, it's only 10 days away :O :O. I've currently only seen it on the Top Shop website and the reviews are good and it is.... a perfect length for me being 5''8 and it means I can still sport my huge heels!! (can you see i'm trying to persuade myself here??). I'm also loving the Jeffrey Campbell boots, (you can get them at Office.) They would go so well with the dress and some cute ankle socks. If only I had a money tree?

I'm on the hunt for the new O.P.I exclusive range by Nicki Minaj, the two glittery varnishes look amazing. My local beauty shop always has the limited edition collections in so i'm eagerly  waiting their arrival :) :).

I posted pictures of Mr Ryan Gosling (aah my heart just skipped a beat) because I haven't been able to get him out of my head ever since I watched Blue Valentine on Friday. I absolutely adore him in The Notebook and fell head over heels in love again with him in this film. Basically, it's about how Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams fall in Love and then the dissolution of their marriage. It flicks back and forth between both. It is really heart melting and heart breaking at the same time. Ladies, it is definitively a one to watch snuggled up in bed with a bar of chocolate! Does anyone agree???

Whoooopieeeee!!!!!!

Often, when I have a day off I love to bake! Especially cup cakes :). Recently I've been noticing that whoopie pies are becoming increasingly popular. So I thought why not try to make some of my very own?!

Now I am an avid DIY baker but just so happened to come across this whilst shopping the other day!

So for easiness and because I have never made them before I thought I'd give them a go. I got out all of my ingredients which included vegetable oil, one medium egg, milk and water. Simples!

The next step was to add the oil, egg and water with the whoopie pie mixture and mix together with a spoon until all bound together.

I then had to evenly place 10  spoonfuls of the mixture on to two baking trays. I did this by greasing the baking trays then placing grease proof paper over the top. Doing this makes it much easier to clean afterwards :). They then had to be left in the oven for around 12 minutes. My oven is a fan oven and was set at 180 degrees. They turned out perfect.

Once out of the oven I then let them cool on a cooling rack and started on the filling. I added the milk to the filling mixture and whisked with an electric whisk for around 3 minutes. It only says 2 on the box but I felt it wasn't firm enough. The mixture should start off extremely runny and end up like this..

Then the fun started! I used a spatula to scoop up even amounts of the filling and pasted it onto on of the whoopie pie halves. I then picked one that looked of equal size and placed it on top and VOILA! Home made whoopie pies!
I was very impressed with the outcome. However, I do feel baking out of boxes is cheating and takes away 95% of the fun of baking itself (but also very hand if you don't have much time on your hands). So next time I'm going to make them from scratch.

Over all, it was a quick pleasant bake and they were very very scrummy and went down extremely well with the rest of my family!

Has anyone made Whoopie Pies before? Any tips? Or any other favorite recipes you would like to share??

My inner man...

First of all I'd like to send my respects to all that have been affected by the Costa Concordia that capsized in Italy a few days ago. Must have been traumatic for all. I worked on board a cruise ship around that size for a short while and I know how much time and effort goes in to staff training. And so it rightly should. But no one can ever prepare you for a real incident no matter how many practice drills you carry out etc. It must have been extremely scary. Lets hope they find the last remaining that are missing, and find them well.

Today I have had a day off from my retail working life so disgracefully slept in till 11.30 am! Shocking I know but needs must!! I was sat in bed reading till 2am! Going to do a book review soon :).
I then went Car Shopping with Mother Ginge. I've had it in my head that my current car (Mini) is too expensive to run... I think if i'm being brutally honest, I'm just incredibly bored of it.. something I never thought I would say. My sensible half of my brain swayed towards the Fiat 500. They have a good mpg and are quite cute and girly. They did absolutely nothing for me. The nicest was  the limited edition Gucci Model and even that looks like a toy.

Swiftly moving on.......

I have to admit my inner man comes out when it comes to cars. (That's what happens when you grow up with a Dad like mine! Being surrounded by cars and motor sport all my life. Not complaining!) A car has to be sporty, sexy, look insanely good and be well built. I like cars to feel heavy when you drive them if you get what I mean?
Just as it happens the Citroen garage was over the road... so I go over for a look and fall completely head over heels (and I knew I would) with the DS3. I've always had the hots for them but actually sitting in one and looking at them just blew my mind even more. I now want a nice DS3 falling short of £16,000. So much for opting for a cheaper car. I just can't help myself. I love driving, it's something I adore, it doesn't stress me out, it does the complete opposite. I crave the drive. So why not have an amazing car I can enjoy. If only I had £16,000.... Damn. I don't really want to buy one on finance either, I've always owned my cars and would like to keep it that way. I can always dream can't I ???

*Sigh*

First of many!

First of many!

So today I subscribed to Glossy Box! So excited to receive my first box as I have heard and read so many good things about them! I will be sure to post a review.

For Christmas I received off some wonderful friends of mine a Soap & Glory gift set which I have not left alone since I opened it! I know a lot of people just absolutely love the products. I don't think I've met anyone that doesn't!
Oh, but how HAPPY I was when the set revealed full size products!!!!!!! I know miniatures are a good way of trying new products and handy to carry/take away with you but there is no feeling like opening up a gift set of goodies and finding out they're full size! Sad I am, I know.

A product I can not live without is their Flake Away. I love how I can exfoliate and know that I will end up feeling silky smooth, moisturised and smelling of peach! All in one go! I have found in the past that other body scrubs have left my skin feeling dry and sore.

So I was super excited when I received one of their newest additions to the  body scrub family called Sugar Crush! And let me just say how IMPRESSED I was :). Flake Away has definitely got competition now ;). Just like Flake Away it left me feeling super smooth and moisturised at the same time but with a lovely fragrance of Lime! Such a winner!

Big thumbs up again for Soap & Glory!
